1. Blind "Deaf" Willie Johnson - The Black Jack Stack (1949)
Willie Johnson was a Florida Panhandle mainstay for 20 years. His most famous recording is a duet with Delta Parker entitled "How Did You Stay" and this version of "Black Jack Stack" is a live recording from his home - later nicknamed "The Black Jack Shack" - where many of the Panhandle Blues Legends would get together to play the blues. This recording remains the rarest piece of music ever recorded in Florida. It was believed lost for 50 years.
2. Willie "Mac" Crack - Piece A Woo (1947)
Willie Mac Crack (William Crack) had a major Tri-State area hit in 1948 with "Pizza Party." He was nicknamed "Mac" for his love of cheeseburgers. Willie Johnson and friends were responsible for this nickname, because as stated in an interview with Delta Parker in Time Magazine: "He was always mackin' that food down like a old drain pipe." The song featured in this compilation is his earliest known recording.
3. Delta Parker - If'n Tell Me What's Mine (1948)
"If'n Tell Me What's Mine" remains Delta Parker's biggest hit, recorded for Paratone Records (Germany) in 1952. This is a live recording featuring Willie Johnson on guitar.
